A stunning cluster of modified Galena cubes, on a base of drusy Calcite.  This is the kind of piece that gives people rockspox!  Featuring clean, sharp galena cubes with modified octahedral faces, lots of them.  A stand-out piece even by Madan standards and a super-collectible metal specimen.

Galena: PbS
Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead. Worked for its lead content as early as 3000 BC, it is found in ore veins with sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tennantite-tetrahedrite, etc. and in skarns, as well as in sedimentary rocks where it may replace carbonate beds or be deposited in pore spaces.

Madan ore fields:
Large Pb-Zn(-Ag) mining district.  Famous for excellent specimens of galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and others.  Known since ancient times, exploited in the Middle Ages and extensively mined during the last 50 years
