APOPHYLLITE HEMATITE CLUSTER

A lovely little Apophyllite Hematite Cluster with Stilbite.  This specimen is in top condition and makes for a very aesthetic and compact display piece.  Several crystal shapes appear on the cluster and this is a more unusual form of the mineral, with the hematite inclusions in the Apophyllite.   Some very interesting and popular minerals come from India, unfortunately many arrive a bit knocked around but the good ones like this are outstanding.  We have several spectacular pieces in our Paddington shop also.  This mineral name has changed and is now called Fluorapophyllite which is a bit long winded.

Dimensions:
5.7cm x 5.1cm x 4.6cm, 87g.

Apophyllite KCa4(Si8O20)(F,OH) · 8H2O.

Location:
Nashik District, Maharashtra, India.
