Cavansite is named from its chemical composition, calcium vanadium silicate. It is a beautiful deep blue mineral. Discovered in 1967 in Malheur County, Oregon, Cavansite is a relatively rare mineral. It is most frequently found in Pune and in the Deccan Traps, in India.
