A Chrysoprase Slab Specimen with good green colour.  Polished ready for jewellery making.  It is translucent showing the grain and slightly porous on rear side.  Great for pendant jewellery making with silver or gold.  This is from very old stock.  Stunning even as a specimen.

CHRYSOPRASE

Chrysoprase, chrysophrase or chrysoprasus is a gemstone variety of chalcedony a cryptocrystalline form of silica that contains small quantities of nickel.  The best colour is apple green which imitates Imperial Jade from Asia, but varies from deep green, blue grey to lemon.  The darker varieties are called prase.
