HIMALAYAN RUTILATED QUARTZ CRYSTAL

Availability:

Out of stock

HIMALAYAN RUTILATED QUARTZ CRYSTAL

A great Himalayan Rutilated Quartz Crystal to add to your collection.  This Crystal shows a good amount of Rutile needles rising from the base.  There is a small amount of Chlorite on the surface at the back of the Crystal.  This specimen has been mounted on a perspex pad for enhanced display.  This is a great piece, totally natural, of course.  A powerful healing crystal or excellent inclusion quartz specimen for the collector.
These two minerals Quartz and Titanium are used as the main components for making Solar Panels.  Which makes me ask the question “Could a natural Rutilated Quartz Crystal generate electrical power under Sun light?”

Location:
Dhading District, Bagmati Zone, Nepal.

Dimensions:
6.8cm x 3.2cm x 3.6cm, 64g.

Quartz: SiO2.

Rutile: TiO2.

Quartz: SiO2.

Quartz is the most common mineral found on the surface of the Earth.  A significant component of many igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.  This natural form of silicon dioxide is found in an impressive range of varieties and colours.  There are many names for different varieties.  Cryptocrystalline varieties of quartz are listed separately under chalcedony and include agate.

Rutile: TiO2.

Rutile is one of the five forms of titanium dioxide found in nature.  Titanium is three times stronger than steel.  Weighing only 42% as much as Steel, making it a stronger and lighter metal.  It is chemically inert under normal conditions, enabling its use in medical implants such as pacemakers.  This non corrosive metal is able to withstand temperature extremes up to 1800 degrees C and has great strength.  An outstanding high tech metal with amazing properties.
