LABRADORITE FREEFORM

A beautiful and ethereal Labradorite Freeform.  This piece is over a kilogram of highly polished Madagascan stone.  Featuring awesome Golden tones of green, blue and gold.  The iridescence shown is known as labradorescence.  It is caused by interference of light from lattice distortions in the rock.  A super looking, popular stone and this one is well priced too.  Labradorite is also called Spectrolite.  Used mainly in jewellery and ornaments.  Known for being unpronounceable for many people.

Originally found at Ford Harbour, Paul Island, near Nain, off the east coast of Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.  Labradorite is truly a fascinatingly beautiful mineral.
