Quartz is one of the most common minerals found in the Earth’s crust. If pure, quartz forms colorless, transparent and very hard crystals with a glass-like luster. A significant component of many igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, this natural form of silicon dioxide is found in an impressive range of varieties and colours.
Quartz in it’s polished form was the most advanced technology thousands of years ago, used by the Assyrians. Quartz was used as a lens to focus light and could start a fire. The Vikings would have used one of these to find the sun on a cloudy day. It would have been used as a magnifying glass too. Today it leads technology being the main component of transistors which make our computers work and solar panels

A great Himalayan Rutilated Quartz Crystal to add to your collection. This Crystal shows a good amount of Rutile needles rising from the base. There is a small amount of Chlorite on the surface at the back of the Crystal. This specimen has been mounted on a perspex pad for enhanced display. This is a great piece, totally natural, of course. A powerful healing crystal or excellent inclusion quartz specimen for the collector.

An outstanding must have Quartz Chlorite Needle. Unusual formation of a very thin double terminated Quartz Needle. In ancient times these were used as Tattoo Needles and as Acupuncture Needles. A beautiful Vera Cruz Amethyst Crystals cluster! One of those crystals you know the location of as soon as you see it. Delicately coloured, well terminated and with some small crystals and Calcite Quartz matrix. Treat yourself. This Vera Cruz Amethyst shows the triagonal habit of this quartz, with three of the 6 sides much larger than the other three, giving a triangular look to it.
