RHODOCHROSITE TEARDROP CABOCHON
A Rhodochrosite Teardrop Cabochon with good rose contrast and banded irregular formations. Well polished ready for jewellery making. It is this rich colour and banding that makes Rhodochrosite such a valued mineral. Great for pendant jewellery making with silver. This little gemstone looks stunning in the natural out door light. This stone is amazing as it looks very different under various lights. The best indoor is soft white fluorescent and ultimate is the natural sun. There are a few natural blemishes in the stone which can be seen in the pics.
2.5cm x 1.7cm x 0.775cm, 7g.
Named in 1813 by Johann Friedrich Ludwig Hausmann from the Greek “rose”, and “colouring”, referring to its colour.
