TEKTITE LARGE SIAM
Tektite Large Siam specimen. This amazing piece was created after being fired into the Earth’s upper atmosphere by a meteorite impact. The size of a nuclear explosion would have melted the sand into molten glass. This liquid glass would have been accelerated into the outer atmosphere or space and then fallen back to earth. It would have cooled whilst traveling through the atmosphere then falling back to Earth. This piece has a great shape and feel to it and tektites over 100g are uncommon. An oresome collector specimen. Some say they come from out of space but they are formed when a meteorite impacts the Earth melting sands and material into the air at great velocity. Moldavite is formed in the same way.
12.5cm x 9.2cm x 3.7cm, 528g.
