VERACRUZ AMETHYST CLUSTER

A beautiful Veracruz Amethyst Cluster.  Several delicately coloured trigonal points adorn the matrix.  The largest is 2.8cm and there are many others from tiny sized up, making it a very interesting specimen under magnification too.  Like many Mexican minerals, the closer you look the better they are.  Quartz from this location is considered some of the best quality in the World, even though it is never the deep purple colour of Brazilian and Uruguayan varieties.  This would be a super addition for your quartz, mineral or healing stone collection, so why not treat yourself.  A truly collectable mineral specimen from an awesome location.

Location:
Veracruz, Mexico.

Dimensions:
12.3cm x 8.8cm x 3.1cm, 245g.  Longest crystal 2.8cm.

Quartz: SiO2.

Quartz is the most common mineral found on the surface of the Earth.  A significant component of many igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, this natural form of silicon dioxide is found in an impressive range of varieties and colours.  There are many names for different varieties:  Cryptocrystalline varieties of quartz are listed separately under chalcedony and include agate.
