MOLDAVITE PENDANT
A beautiful piece of translucent forest green Moldavite Pendant. The piece is darker in person that the pics show with adjustable waxed twine necklace. Moldavite is a popular mineral with collectors who covet its rarity and beauty, and crystal healers who seek out its transformative properties. Moldavite originated due to the impact of a meteorite in the Bohemia region 15 million years ago. Some say they come from out of space but they are formed when a meteorite impacts the Earth melting sands and material into the air at great velocity. Shungite is an intriguing material. The name of the stone comes from the village of Shunga not far from the Zazhoginskoy mine. Shungite has unique mineral properties. The solid possesses sorption, catalytic and antibacterial properties. It has been known of for centuries in Russia where people would bath in water from the area for its curative properties.
Shungite has been used in medical treatment since the early 18th century. Peter the Great set up Russia’s first spa in Karelia to make use of the water purifying properties of shungite, which he had himself experienced. He also instigated its use in providing purified water for the Russian army. The anti-bacterial properties of shungite have been confirmed by modern testing.
