AZURITE MINERAL ROUGH
An extra quality Azurite Mineral Rough. Electric blue in colour on both sides and solid, this is an excellent collectors specimen. A blast of colour for the collection, quite hard to photograph it is so bright and dark blue. There is some Malachite is also visible on the back and interesting layering visible from the sides. A good, chunky piece of quality Azurite for the crystal or mineral collector. Azurite is a popular mineral due to its vibrant colour, a deep blue called “azure”, hence its name. Quite a heavy piece for its size, due of course to the Copper content.

Ruby’s are Red and all other Corundum are Sapphires. The name is from Sanskrit “kuruvinda” meaning Ruby. A rare sapphire is a Padparadscha which is a pinky peach colour, found in Sri Lanka. Ruby is the second hardest natural mineral. The Element Chromium is what causes the Red colour in Ruby. The best shade of red for a Ruby is Pigeon Blood Red. Ruby can be any shade of red up to almost pink. They are the most amazing Gemstone and in my mind way better than Blood Diamonds.
